POSITION SUMMARY

The Assembly/Shipping Coordinator oversees the day-to-day functions of the order fulfillment process by picking items, assembling goods, packaging them, and generating shipping labels for shipment to our clients. Shipping and assembly responsibilities for this role can be split 50% assembly 50% shipping, shifting either direction throughout the day, depending on workflow and business needs. The shipping clerk will be working in an office environment. Activities include administrative tasks including accurate data entry of shipping information, maintaining daily shipment records, ordering departmental supplies, as well as collaborating with the customer service department to ensure that customer expectations are exceeded.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

  • Monitor and prioritize daily sales orders while meeting deadlines
  • Able to complete job functions with minimal supervision
  • Assemble items on sales order and prepare them for shipment
  • Ensure that shipping procedures are followed
  • Use the proper marking and labeling when packaging in order to comply with regulations
  • Generate required documentation for domestic and international shipments
  • Generate shipping labels and packing slips corresponding to sales orders
  • Maintain records of shipping documentation and reports
  • Prepare shipping quotes for customers
  • Maintain departmental supplies
  • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations and streamline processes
  • Must stay current with company updates, processes, software, and policies
  • Other duties as required

Requirements

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Knowledge of UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manger, DHL Online
  • Strong competency in Microsoft Work and Outlook
  • Ability to use computer and web-based systems to input, access, or modify information with a willingness to learn new applications
  • Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines and maintain a high level of accuracy and accountability
  • Ability to maintain composure under stress
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective verbal, listening, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, but also perform efficiently independently
  • Must be highly organized and able to multitask on several projects at a time when necessary
  • Proven work experience in a similar role

Education And Experience

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with progressive responsibilities
  • Minimum 3 years of order fulfillment or shipping/receiving background or a mix of experience and strong ability to be trained and pick up tasks quickly

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to spend prolonged periods of time standing, speaking, walking and/or sitting
  • Requires ability to occasionally lift up-to 30lbs

Compensation And Benefits

  • Starting pay rate: $19-$21/hr commensurate with experience
  • Performance bonus: Up to 10% of base salary, based on achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs,) paid quarterly
  • $150/month flex pay stipend
