Job Description

Description We are looking for an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our team in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This Contract to permanent position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in bookkeeping and accounting, particularly within the nonprofit sector. Responsibilities: - Perform daily cash reconciliations for multiple accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. - Monitor the operating account on a daily basis to maintain up-to-date financial records. - Manage and process monthly billing tasks, including tuition invoicing and effective follow-up with clients. - Prepare and post journal entries, as well as process checks for various financial transactions. - Provide comprehensive support to the controller, including managing accounts payable and receivable. - Maintain and update the general ledger to reflect accurate financial information. - Collaborate with internal teams to address and resolve any discrepancies or financial issues. - Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and financial regulations. Requirements - Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop with a solid understanding of accounting principles. - At least 3 years of experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role. - Prior experience working within the nonprofit sector is required. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration and client interaction. - Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. - Ability to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining accuracy. - Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules, including potential shifts in work hours. - A supportive and detail-oriented approach to working within a team environment.
