The Museum Attendant position is a part‑time role with the possibility of extension. Candidates will support the Museum in general office tasks, event and exhibition support, and museum collection assistance. Salary: $16.00 per hour; 20 hours per week Responsibilities Security: opening and closing the Museum building; monitoring visitors in person and via the Museum security camera system General Office Management: answering phones and directing calls; monitoring and tracking Museum statistics and accounts in Excel; managing incoming and outgoing mail; managing merchandise and ticket sales; addressing other office needs Events and Exhibitions: assisting in facility preparation for events; distributing event and exhibition information Collections: assisting with exhibition installations, handling of museum collections and loaned objects; working on special projects in the Museum Collection Qualifications Education: a bachelor’s degree preferred (Fine Arts, with business classes a plus) Experience: background in museum or gallery work and office experience desired Skills: extreme attention to detail and accuracy; neatness; multitasking ability; initiative and excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work with interruptions; proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and Adobe Photoshop; strong communication and writing skills; typing and filing; interest in ceramic art and museums; familiarity with museum procedures Students are welcome to apply; hours and wage may change under student hiring regulations.
