Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Trading Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the traders by reviewing and recording the transactions, conducting research, and providing administrative support in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities:

• Responsible for daily trade entries into trading management systems and ERP as they are executed.
• Check physical and derivatives confirmations from counterparties/brokers and alert traders of any discrepancies.
• Verify the physical and derivatives contract reports and the settlement reports received from Operators against the trader's records and the ERP system for accuracy.
• Collaborate with the traders to develop an understanding of the market and related counterparties, grades, market movements, and instruments.
• Obtain an understanding of daily operations to enable a better interface between the operations team and trading departments.
• Develop knowledge and understanding of the market.
• Support Traders and Analysts in preparing internal reports, filing documents, managing trading records, and market analysis.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred in related fields.
• Ideally would have undertaken an internship in a similar role.
• Driven and a desire to learn about the oil trading environment.
• Experience working in an international oil and gas company is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Fluency in English and Mandarin is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and technical skills, i.e., Python or other coding tools.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and a quick learner.
• US working permit
